About 9jaPulse and our editorial policy
9jaPulse is an automated news desk for Nigeria. Our software reads public RSS feeds and news sitemaps from Nigerian publishers and official bodies, groups reports about the same event, and writes a short original summary that links to every original report.
What we publish
- Only headlines, short metadata and our own summaries. We never republish full articles or publisher photos.
- Every story links to all outlets that reported it. Headlines belong to their publishers.
- Full summary pages are created only for stories confirmed by at least two outlets, priority topics or detected major events. Single-source items are shown as a headline with a link to the publisher.
- Automated digests without a reviewed summary are marked
noindex.
Privacy: crime, accidents and disasters
We never name private individuals (victims, relatives, witnesses, suspects not charged) or show identifying details from unverified sources. Single-source incident reports are labelled “Unconfirmed”.
Images and credits
Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences (CC0, public domain, CC BY, CC BY-SA). The author and licence are credited under every photo. We only show photos of public figures from their Wikidata entry, and of places. We never show photos of private individuals, victims or crowds at events. Some general stories use an illustrative stock photo from Pixabay or Openverse (CC0, public domain, CC BY or CC BY-SA only), labelled "Stock photo (illustrative)" with credit. Stock photos never show recognisable faces and are never used for crime or accident stories. Crime and accident stories use a landmark photo or a map card. Where no suitable photo exists we use our own graphic: a Nigeria map, a section motif or a data chart. Charts use CBN official rates. Our graphics are abstract and never depict real people or events. We do not use AI-generated images.
